Senior Competition
(Under 14 - Masters)
It was great to see so many of the surf sports squad come along to the meeting on Saturday both in person and via Zoom.
If you weren't able to make it here is a quick summary of what was covered:
Training and Coaches
Michael Booth will be supported by other coaches and mentors - Sven Mysor, who is also the new board captain will be supporting the developing youth with boards.
Michael will be away for two weeks from Tuesday 24th May 2022.
John Wilkie will be taking Skis.
Brendan Naylor and Pat Eley Boards.
Kye Bostwick Gym and Ben Snook will be helping with coaching as well.
It is very important we respect these coaches who are volunteering to support their fellow athletes
One Club One Team
We encourage everyone to come and have breakfast together after training on Saturdays and dinner on Wednesdays after training to keep building our club culture. This may include a weekend away early in the season and traveling to Manly / Freshwater Bay Carnival (typically Australia Day weekend).
Competitions
We will be targeting competitions this season e.g. Surf League, WA Iron Series, and may choose to miss a couple of carnivals this season to avoid overloading athletes.
Team Selections
Selection will be based on training attendance and performance at carnivals from January onwards.
Skis
We encourage the older youth who are serious about skis to look at getting their own ski. This helps at competition as you are able to be responsible for your own gear.
