Hope you will join us for Horsham Eco Churches Get Together
at Sussex Green Hub on Saturday 28 May at 2.00pm
Sussex Green Hub Last Saturday Every Month 10am - 4pm - Help needed on 28 May, 25 June, 30 July, 27 August, 24 September, 29 October, 26 November
Horsham Eco Churches has a stand every month at Sussex Green Hub. Could you join a rota to help for an hour or two chatting with people about Eco Church? You don't need to be able to answer all their questions, as we can follow up with more information. It is a great opportunity to network with the other local groups at the Hub, as well as the public. I set up the stand shown in this photo the day before. We also need a First Aider on 28 May in the morning. Please contact me for more information. Thank you.
The ‘citizen science’ will welcome people to churchyards and encourage them to record what animals and plants they see. That data will be collated on the biological records hub, the National Biodiversity Network. A free webinar programme will be complementing hundreds of local Churches Count on Nature events.
The Great Big Green Week, 24 September - 2 October 2022
Organise an event or Local Green Week, to celebrate how your community is taking action to tackle climate change and protect green spaces, and encourage others to get involved too. Send us the details and we can help you publicise it.
A collaborative construction of patches by individuals and groups bringing the community together with a common cause. We would love you to stitch, knit, crochet, print, paint whatever medium you like, but please use resources you already have, to represent your joy in nature and hopes for a sustainable future for our land. Come to the Sussex Green Hub on Sat 28 May to pick up resources and learn all about it. Please complete and return by 25 June, full details and fabrics information here:

Horsham District Community Climate Fund
The Community Climate Fund is a grant available to local voluntary and community groups that share our vision of becoming a carbon neutral District. Churches can apply. The Fund will support new projects that will make a difference and also benefit the wider community. Our priorities and categories that projects must align with are:
Carbon Emissions – Reduce carbon emissions and other climate warming gases
Energy – Reduce consumption of energy and install low carbon or renewable forms of energy
Water – Reduce consumption of water and reduce threats from flooding
Waste – Minimise waste, reduce, reuse, and recycle
Biodiversity – Increase biodiversity and wildlife in the district
Transport – Reduce the need to travel and increase cycling, walking and use of public transport
Other key considerations for Horsham District Council are education, community involvement and the projects potential for long term, tangible environmental benefit and provide positive change.
