More Information
This event was started during the pandemic to attract people back to downtown. It was really well received, and we hope to continue the tradition. There is no committee; this is organized organically by our downtown businesses. Brooke from Grasse River Outfitters and Rainbow from Nature's Storehouse have led the effort, but many hands make for the best event!
The event is promoted to attract people to visit the shops, enjoy exhibits, enjoy dining, and increase awareness of the businesses that exist in Canton. This year, with the help of an SLC Arts Grant, musician fees for the June series can be reimbursed by the Village of Canton (more details will be shared with hosts as you sign up).
It is the responsibility of the host businesses to recruit and negotiate compensation with the musician (suggested $75-100 per night). We encourage musicians to reach out to their favorite Canton businesses too!
Musicians MUST have amplification to compete with Main Street Traffic. The Village plans to bring additional tables to Main Street for Thursday nights outdoor dining!
If you are interested in hosting, please fill out the form above as soon as you have booked someone (you can add a new form each time or edit the original as details are confirmed. You can also note if there are nights you will NOT host a musician or program). You can see the results of the form (only to be shared with downtown businesses) so that you can be mindful of sharing dates with your adjacent businesses. We try to make it so people can stroll and hear music the whole time, without creating interference between musicians.
A Facebook event will be created for all to share. Each business should embrace the opportunity to share with their networks, however you can! The more people, the more we all benefit. A flyer will be handed out in the next week or two [or you can pick one up at Grasse River Outfitters (45 Main Street), Nature's Storehouse (21 Main Street), or the Economic Development Office (60 Main Street, 2nd Floor)].
We look forward to having a great June event!
