I praise God for His healing hand upon me and I thank you all for the prayers. Prayers are powerful!
Yesterday, the Infectious Disease Doctor took out my PICC line that was being used to infuse antibiotics close to my heart and into my circulatory system to treat the blood. The doctor declared that all the blood cultures are negative (a good thing) and there is no more evidence of active bacteria causing infection. It has been less than a month since my open-heart surgery and this diagnosis has been an answer to prayer. All the doctors were more concerned with the active blood infection than the replacement of two heart valves. My chances of recovery after the surgery were estimated at 50%. The most optimistic doctor provided me with a 60% chance of living through this. BUT GOD worked a miracle of healing. Most in the medical field have expressed that my recovery of the open-heart surgery and now the disappearance of the blood infection has been a miracle. Nurses and doctors were amazed that on the day of my surgery, I could get up out of bed and walk. My movement and activity allowed the occupational and physical therapist to release me for increased activity and self-care while I was still in the intensive care unit. Within days in the hospital, I was able to accomplish all the milestones that were set for my recovery to get home. My strength is coming back. but under doctors’ orders (as well as Candy’s orders), I am still being cautious. The surgeon cleared me for driving a week ago. All this is because God has heard the many prayers and has healed me!
There are still other issues that the blood infection has caused but I am trusting in the Lord and cherish your prayers. God promised me His peace and presence. It has been revealed through your expressions of love and encouragement. Thank you all!
