Join the GTHS 10th Anniversary Walkathon
and SAVE LIVES!

10 years.

For 10 years the south Georgian Bay community has come together to make a difference for pets and people. Collectively, we have raised over $500,000 helping thousands of homeless pets in need. Outstanding!

Today, we need your help more than ever. Pet surrenders are arriving at our doorstep daily and we anticipate more than 1500 homeless pets will require care this year on top of over 3000 pets in our animal hospital.

By registering for the GTHS Walkathon you are truly making a difference. You are inspiring your community and offering hope to those in need. Please consider registering today as an individual or a team.

In a fun twist this year we have partnered with our friends at Tails of the Mountain to have our celebration walk on August 6th at their gorgeous event grounds. Whether you Walk your Way or join us at Tails of the Mountain, this event is for you and your furry friend!

Stay connected with us on Facebook! and a special thanks to our Pet Partners and Premier sponsor Huronia Alarms!

Help us Plan our Future!

The Georgian Triangle Humane Society (GTHS) is developing a working plan that will guide our work over the next five years. As we strive to provide excellent services that reflect the needs of our community, we invite you to share your thoughts and opinions through this survey. Your feedback is a valued source of information as we chart our path forward.

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. All feedback will be kept anonymous.

Help plan the future

Kittens are coming!
Spring is an exciting and overwhelming time of year for the team at the GTHS. The warmer weather brings kittens...and with over 550 (that's 2 to 3 kittens per day!) expected to arrive this year, the days can be long and harrowing.

This is where we need your help! Our Animal Care Manager has written a resource called "What to do if you find a Kitten'. Knowing the facts and understanding best practice can save lives! Thank you so much for caring!
Summer Youth Programs!
Registration is NOW OPEN for our summer programs. All sessions are IN PERSON and focused on promoting the human-animal bond through interacting with animals and other like-minded participants. Our programs are located at the Animal Centre and off-site. Register today!
Get ready to shop....virtually!

A Unique Way to Make an Impact

The GTHS is incredibly grateful to our steadfast and generous community partners. Recently, our friends at Co-operators made a $20,000 gift to the Regional Centre for Pets and People! We were estatic. Furthermore, Sean Kelly, Associate Financial Advisor, wrote an informative article raising awareness about giving options through insurance.

Have you ever wanted to donate to the Georgian Triangle Humane Society but did not think your donation would go very far?  Many people want to donate but wish they could give more.  Did you know that life insurance can be an effective way to help your favourite charity (GTHS 😊) achieve their long-term goals?

Along with tax savings, the benefit of donating a life insurance policy includes the freedom to choose coverage limits and a premium that fits your budget. Finish the article here

Microchips save lives!
Why is it so very important to microchip our pets?  Because they can get lost or run away when they’re scared.  Can you imagine the terror your pet would feel if he/she couldn’t find you?  Can you imagine how devastated you’d be to know that your pet is missing and can’t get home?  When we microchip our pets, we vastly improve their chances of being reunited with us.

100 Reasons to be Grateful!
The Georgian Triangle Humane Society is proud to have been voted charity of choice by 100 Women Who Care South Georgian Triangle. Receiving their 2022 spring donation of $18,200, this generous donation will support the operation of the community-based Companion Animal Hospital and the homeless animals that rely on it for care. The GTHS will have a new home!
Alongside volunteers, donors, community members, local politicians, and friends, the GTHS celebrated a huge milestone: the official reveal of the new site of the future Regional Centre for Pets and People.

A special thank you to Councillor Mariane McLeod of Collingwood, Deputy Mayor Sylvia Bray of Wasaga Beach, Councillor Joe Belanger of Wasaga Beach, Mayor Doug Measures of Clearview, Councillor Ross Kentner of Meaford, and MP Terry Dowdell for their incredible support of our project.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Canada Life for their generous sponsorship, to Tatham Engineering for hosting our celebration, to Spy Cider and Side Launch Brewing Company for providing refreshments, to Grandma’s Beach Treats for the delicious desserts, and to Captured by Kirsten for capturing such a special celebration.
