On doing the work that's calling to us

Hi <<First Name>>,

What would you do if you could not fail?

I've been asked this question many times over the years. Maybe you have too by someone trying to help you find the next right step on your professional or creative journey.

But I think there's a more useful question to serve that purpose.

What would you do even though you might fail?

Almost three years ago, I wrote to the thousands of people who subscribed to my blog to tell them I was quitting. It took me ten years to build an audience of loyal blog readers, one precious reader at a time. And there I was, approaching my mid-fifties, changing course and choosing to focus on writing my debut novel.

There was no guarantee the work would ever see the light of day. I had no experience writing fiction, no agent and no publisher. But the pull of the work was so strong that I felt compelled to do it even though I was likely to fail.

I'm glad to say I finished the novel. With the support and belief of an incredible agent, editorial and publishing team, my book, THE MAKING OF HER, will be published tomorrow in Australia and August in the US.

All the details about the novel, early reviews and links to pre-order or buy copies for yourself or gift to others are on my new website.

And if you're interested in occasional updates from me about writing, creativity and doing work that's calling you, please subscribe to my fiction mailing list.

Who knows what you and I might be talking about in ten years time.

Thanks as always for your support. It means the world to me.

With Gratitude,
Bernadette
