It's Time To Nominate For The Veterans Wall of Honor!

Dear Center Community,

I am excited to announce that it’s time to nominate this year’s inductees for the Benjamin F. Dillingham, III & Bridget Wilson LGBT Veterans Wall of Honor (VWoH)!

The Benjamin F. Dillingham, III and Bridget Wilson LGBT Veterans Wall of Honor at The Center recognizes LGBTQ veterans with ties to San Diego who served under anti-LGBTQ policies, preventing their ability to serve safely and openly. The idea for the LGBT Veterans Wall of Honor was conceived by City/County Commissioner Nicole Murray Ramirez, and was created with the generous support of veterans Benjamin F. Dillingham, III and Bridget Wilson.

The veterans who have been inducted since the wall’s unveiling in 2011 have taken the oath to serve our country and have done so honorably, and with distinction, acting as role models in advancing equality. The LGBT Veterans Wall of Honor commemorates these veterans’ lives in hopes that their courage, bravery and sacrifices will continue to inspire future generations.

Nominees are eligible regardless of rank earned, branch of service, or component (Active, Reserve, or National Guard) and nominees may be living or deceased. For a list of criteria and to learn about the application process, please visit The Center’s website.

The deadline to submit Veterans Wall of Honor nominations is June 30th, 2022 and we look forward to celebrating the 2022 Honorees this fall as we continue to honor those LGBTQ veterans who served with honor and distinction. Thank you!

- Cara Dessert (Pronouns: She, Her, Hers)
Chief Executive Officer
