Dear MEET Community,

We invite you to read the story of the amazing Adan Abu Naaj who made it all the way from Nazareth, through the MEET Program, and, finally, to the prestigious computer science and economics program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Growing up in Nazareth, a Palestinian town in the North, Adan found most of the academic and entrepreneurial challenges she was seeking outside of school. She led the local students' council, played on the basketball team, and was involved in a women's leadership organization.

For her final project at MEET, she led a group of fellow MEET students - 50% Israelis and 50% Palestinians. Together, mentored by MIT student instructors, she developed a program that aimed at empowering the Palestinian refugees who live in the refugee camps of East Jerusalem.

Adan is now the 14th MEET graduate to get accepted into the extremely competitive undergraduate program at MIT, and the third woman alum to do so.

We have no doubt that we’ll get many more reasons to be proud of you, Adan. The whole MEET community is behind you!
