Recent Community Foundation Grants
The Warren County Community Foundation awarded a $1,500 grant to the Seeger Film Club. David Baker, Seeger teacher/ Film Club Advisor accepted the check. This grant will help pay for purchasing the rights to show the movies being brought to the Devon for the Free Summer Movies on Wednesdays this summer. Every Wednesday from June 8 to July 27 there will be two free shows, 10 AM and at noon.  

The Foundation also awarded a $1,500 grant to the Summer Parks Program. Vickie Strickler, the director, accepted the check. This year's grant will help pay for programming including a planetarium and a science demonstration that becomes a foam party. Over 250 children attend the Summer Parks Program. 
The Foundation's third grant awarded in the past couple of weeks was for the Ura Seeger Auditorium The grant for $1,512 is for marketing on the texting platform. The Foundation and Auditorium have been partnering on a plan to notify community members about upcoming community events.

Lon and Linda Akers Pine Village Fund Awards Grant
On Monday, May 23 the students at Pine Village Elementary had a show called Forces and Motion. It was all about science but incorporated fun experiments and demonstrations. Some students had the opportunity to be assistants and volunteers in the program. Mobile Ed Productions offers several different assemblies for schools. Pine Village Elementary Administration selected this one, the Lon and Linda Akers Pine Village Elementary Fund awards a grant to bring the show to Pine Village. There were two shows, one for the younger students and another for the older students. Thank you, Lon and Linda Akers!

Disc Golf Tournament a Sucess!
On Sunday, May 29th, 8 teams participated in the 1st annual Warren County disc golf tournament. Teams played 18 baskets in a two-person best disc scramble format. Mitchell Lenfesty and Zach Zimmerman were first with 16 under par, Chris Hansen and Travis Dillon were second with 10 under par, and Jeremy and Sara Bishir were third with 7 under par. The Foundation hosted this event to bring attention to the disc golf course that we installed at the end of 2020. Disc golf is a great family fun game, give it a try!
