There's a lot going on this week so First 5 is landing in your inbox a couple of days early. Thanks for reading!

Parish Finance Meeting - Thursday, May 26 at 7pm: At all the Masses this past weekend, Christine Spears, the chair of the finance council
made a brief presentation on the parish finances. A handout was made available to all in attendance and can also be found here. Parish leadership will discuss this update and answer any questions at a meeting at 7pm tomorrow night (upstairs, in the church). All are invited to attend this important gathering.

Healing Mass Tonight: Don’t forget that tonight at 7pm Fr. Ben will celebrate a special healing Mass. Prayer teams will be available to pray with people following Mass.

Steubenville Spaghetti Supper Fundraiser: In support of our Steubenville youth from Holy Trinity Parish, the Knights of Columbus are holding a Spaghetti Supper this Saturday (May 28th) from 5:30pm to 7pm. Adult plates are $10 and children up to age 12 are $5. While walk-ins are welcome, it's helpful for our planning to know how many will be coming out to support our youth, so reserve your dinner today! For more info or to make a reservation, contact Alex Craven at faithformation@holytrinityns.ca or by calling 782-253-0198.

Holy Spirit Novena: This Friday (May 27th) is the first day to begin praying the oldest novena of the Church– to the Holy Spirit, in the lead up to Pentecost. To join the Companions of the Cross and others, in praying this prayer, click here. The daily novena prayers can also be found here. Come Holy Spirit!

Emergency Shelters Update: We are delighted to report that one of the occupants of our two emergency shelters now has an apartment in Halifax. She is very grateful for all the help she received while at Holy Trinity. Both shelters remain occupied, as a new resident has moved into the vacated one. The project has now been extended until at least August. We thank the parish for supporting our guests with gift cards for food and necessities. You are welcome to place gift cards especially for Sobeys, Giant Tiger or Superstore, in the locked box outside the parish office. We appreciate your continued support.

Receptions for Fr. Ben: This Sunday is the Feast of the Ascension and it will be Fr. Ben St. Croix’s final weekend serving here. There will be a small reception in the church foyer following all three Masses and all are welcome to stop by for a brief time of fellowship and to say thanks. It’s been wonderful to have Fr. Ben here with us and we will keep him in our prayers as he returns to his ministry with the Companions of the Cross in Ontario. Fr. Bryan is returning to the parish on June 1st and will resume his role as pastor just before the Feast of Pentecost (June 5th).

Past issues of First 5 are available here.
