Today I'm excited to announce that Catholic Community Service is officially launching our annual Compassion In Action campaign!
From now until Thursday, June 30, our Board of Directors, community members, and advocates are working to raise $20,000 to continue: hospice and home care services, multidisciplinary team responses to allegations of child abuse, and promote the health and quality of life of seniors.
And I want you to join us.
When you donate to Catholic Community Service, you are helping seniors across Southeast. Like Patricia, who experienced medical issues and, upon referral to Southeast Senior Services case management, got enrolled in-home services, Capital AKcess transportation, the Bridge Adult Day Program attendance, and a Life Alert service subscription.
When you donate to Catholic Community Service, you provide charity care to individuals from Hospice and Home Care of Juneau. Like Alan, who didn't have to worry about paying for hospice when insurance did not cover his care.
When you donate to Catholic Community Service, you provide essential victim advocacy and mental health services from the SAFE Child Advocacy Center so suspected victims of child abuse like Katelyn can take a breath and focus on being a kid.
With 27 different programs across our three divisions; Hospice and Home Care of Juneau, SAFE Child Advocacy Center, and Southeast Senior Services, your support can go a long way.
Here is where your donation goes:
- $24 provides a meal or assisted ride for a senior across the ten communities we serve.
- $54 provides Tai Chi classes to two seniors, improving their balance and reducing their risk of falling.
- $63 provides an hour of bereavement services to anyone in Juneau struggling with the loss of a loved one.
- $112 provides two weeks' worth of nutritious meals to a senior in Juneau.
- $225 provides an hour of mental health counseling to a suspected victim of child abuse.
