Updated COVID-19 ARS Policies

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Dear ARS Parents and Guardians,

We pray that you find this message in the best of health and Imaan.

As our obligation to keep our students and staff safe, Al Rahmah School continues to take steps to mitigate the risk of the spread of COVID-19 and avoid any disruptions to our students' learning as we wrap up the school year.

We also urge you to remain committed to our actions to keep everyone safe by following the ARS COVID-19 policies.

ARS COVID-19 Updated Guidelines
Effective 5/26/2022

Isolation guidelines apply to students and staff alike, irrespective of the vaccination status.

Isolation: Person(s) who have tested positive for Covid-19, regardless of vaccination status, should follow the following:

  • 5 days of isolation from the date your symptoms started OR, if you do not have symptoms, 5 days from the date of your positive test.
  • Day 0 is the day the person tests positive. 
  • Before returning to school, the person must either obtain a note from a healthcare provider indicating that the person is not contagious and can return to work/ school or share a negative antigen test result to the health suite by submitting the test results here. 
  • On return to school, you must wear a well-fitting mask for the additional next 5 days.

Quarantine guidelines apply to students and staff alike based on the vaccination status and kind of exposure (limited or ongoing):

Quarantine: If a person(s) is exposed to someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, regardless of vaccination status, must Quarantine with the following guidelines.

  • Vaccinated person with ongoing exposure*: Quarantine for 5 days, get the PCR test done on day 5, and return to school with a negative test. 
  • Vaccinated and limited exposure**: Quarantine for 3 days, get the PCR test done on day 3, and return to school with a negative test. 
  • Unvaccinated with limited and ongoing exposure: Quarantine for 5 days, get the PCR test done on day 5, and return to school with a negative test.
*Ongoing Exposure: Living in the same household with a person who tested positive.

**Limited Exposure: Came in close contact with someone who tested positive at work or at any event.

Close Contact: The person in close contact is the one who did not maintain a physical distance of 6 feet and was exposed to the individual for about 15 mins or longer over the period of 24 hrs.

Travel Guidelines:

International Travel Guidelines: 

  • Anyone who returns from an International will be required to take a PCR test within 48 hours of arrival and return to school with negative PCR test results. Must wear a well-fitting mask for the next 5 days i.e adhere to the mask-wearing mandate.

Domestic travel: 

  • Anyone who returns from out-of-state travel will be required to take a rapid/antigen test upon arrival and must return to school with negative test results and adhere to the mask-wearing mandate.
