Our 5th annual conference will be in-person once again at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia on July 20-21

This year's theme is, "It takes a village to raise a cybersecurity workforce".

We are reviewing the responses from our CFP, along with our educator scholarship applications. Those selected to present and/or receive scholarships will be notified before the end of May.

We're launching the first statewide Virginia Cyber Signing Day in 2022. We want to celebrate your hard working cyber students!

The Virginia Cyber Signing Day was inspired by the National Cyber Signing Day (NCSD), an annual event that takes place at the NICE K12 Cybersecurity Education Conference, hosted by iKeepSafe. You can find past NCSD videos here

CYBERSECURITY EDUCATOR AWARDS

These awards will be presented annually to educator(s) at the secondary or postsecondary level in a Virginia public school. 

  • Virginia Cybersecurity Educator Award recognizes an educator who represents excellence in cybersecurity education in the Commonwealth.

Do your students enjoy competing in CTF or cyber defense contests? Now they have chance to contribute by developing their own cyber security hands-on exercises that will help undergraduate/graduates prepare to compete in cyber defense contests.

Any team of undergraduate or graduate students from any 2-year or 4-year college that is a member of one of the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) nodes is eligible to participate.

This is a collaborative project of Radford University, Virginia Western Community College, Lord Fairfax Community College and Germanna Community College and a Commonwealth Cyber Initiative SWVA node funded initiative.

The 2022 NICE K12 Cybersecurity Education Conference CALL FOR PROPOSALS is now open through June 24, 2022. The Conference Planning Committee is seeking timely and thought-provoking K12 cybersecurity education presentation topics that align with this year’s conference theme: “Expanding the Gateway to the Cybersecurity Workforce of the Future.”

Topics should align with one of the five conference tracks:

1.   Increasing Cybersecurity Career Awareness
2.   Engaging Students Where Disciplines Converge
3.   Stimulating Innovative Cybersecurity Educational Approaches
4.   Designing Cybersecurity Academic and Career Pathways
5.   Promoting Cyber Awareness

The 2022 NICE K12 Cybersecurity Education Conference takes place on December 5-6, 2022 at the Marriott St. Louis Grand in St. Louis, Missouri with pre-conference workshops on December 3-4.
