Call for Artists: Festival for the Arts

Deadline to Apply: May 31, 2022
Event Date: July 23, 2022

The Fund for the Arts is hosting an inaugural Festival for the Arts, a celebration of the arts, artists, and arts organizations that make up our healthy and vibrant community. This day-long festival will feature performances, atmosphere engagements, and Artist Village table activation experiences in a free festival for multigenerational audiences. Artists, artist collectives, and arts organizations from across Greater Louisville are invited to submit proposals to participate in the festival.

Sustaining Impact Grants

Deadline to Apply: June 10, 2022
The purpose of Sustaining Impact Grants is to provide mission-based operating support to Greater Louisville nonprofit arts organizations in order to ensure the organization’s ongoing capacity to drive community impact. Virtual office hours are available on May 27 and June 3.

NeXt! Ambassador Applications are Open!

Deadline to Apply: June 20, 2022
Applications for Fund for the Arts' NeXt! Ambassador leadership development program are now open! NeXt! is a program dedicated to preparing the next generation of emerging professionals for volunteer leadership roles within the Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana arts community. NeXt! Ambassadors undergo a 9-month immersive program with leaders from across the community to develop necessary skills, build diverse relationships and apply the lessons learned.

Innovative Grant: Grants for Artists and Photographers
Deadline: June 16, 2022

Innovate Grant awards (2) $550.00 grants each quarter, to one Visual Artist and one Photographer. In addition, (4) honorable mentions (2 in art and 2 in photo), will be featured and recognized on their website and join a growing community of vibrant and talented artists. Innovate Grant's commitment extends beyond the grant cycle by promoting the work of selected winners and honorable mentions into the future. Innovate Grant supports artists and photographers through quarterly grants. They've simplified the grant process so that artists and photographers can focus on making their innovative work. The work should speak for itself and their application reflects that.

National Endowment for the Arts: Grants for Arts Projects

Grants for Arts Projects is the National Endowment for the Arts' principal grants program for organizations based in the United States. Through project-based funding, the program supports public engagement with, and access to, various forms of art across the nation, the creation of art, learning in the arts at all stages of life, and the integration of the arts into the fabric of community life.

Louisville Visual Art: art[squared]
Deadline: May 26, 2022

The annual art[squared] is a feast for the eyes with hundreds of artworks! All works donated to art[squared] will be exhibited on our online auction site with the artist’s name. Imagine the powerful sight of 100+ works of art displayed in support of scholarships for 1000+ young artists! Proceeds benefit all of LVA’s vital programming: from Children's Fine Art Classes and Open Doors outreach for at-risk youth; to the Mural Art Program and year-round exhibitions at Metro Hall & AC Hotel. This opportunity is available for visual artists age 18+.

Josephine Sculpture Park: Outdoor Public Sculpture in Frankfort, KY

In partnership with the City of Frankfort, Josephine Sculpture Park (JSP) is seeking to commission an original outdoor site-specific public artwork that is inspired by nature native to Kentucky. The work of art will be permanently installed in the Second Street Corridor, located between historic downtown Frankfort and the Capitol.

Jeffersonville Public Art Commission: Noco Digital Gallery - Sept - Oct, 2022
Deadline: July 8, 2022

The gallery is comprised of five digital Samsung panels (55 inches in size) in black enclosures at 628 Michigan Avenue Jeffersonville, Indiana in the heart of the Jeffersonville Arts and Cultural District. This gallery was designed to be a permanent, accessible outdoor art display for visitors to the district. This is an unmanned gallery space monitored remotely through cameras.

Candidates should also be able to work at heights of 40 feet on ladders, lifts, truss, and catwalks - this includes harness work. Familiarity with theatrical lighting is a plus. Title: Dressers

Dressers are responsible for all pre- and post-show duties as assigned by the Costume & Wardrobe Supervisor, as well as show duties such as pre-sets, quick changes and emergency repairs. This position is responsible for the daily maintenance of the costumes by assisting with the laundry, performing minor repairs, dressing room maintenance, and dry cleaning. Basic stitching knowledge and previous wardrobe experience is required for this position. Experience with Equity Productions is a plus. Position will be required to work on evenings and weekends.

Title: House Manager

The House Manager is the Radical Hospitality Team Leader responsible for creating a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment rooted in anti racist, anti-oppression and conflict resolution practices in all the Theatre’s facilities before, during, and after a performance. This position will work in collaboration with the Lobby Manager, Stage Management/Artistic & Production staff and the Radical Hospitality Team to navigate any challenges that arise during in-person performances. The House Manager will answer questions, listen to and engage with guests, and uplift the necessary health and safety protocols that enable Actors Theatre of Louisville to continue in-person operations.  All House Managers must be certified and capable of performing CPR and First Aid (the Theatre will provide certification training) and be comfortable with taking charge in an emergency situation and disturbances. Other responsibilities will include unlocking, locking and alarming all theater spaces. Position will be required to work on evenings and weekends and may require the ability to lift items up to 30 pounds.

Members of the Radical Hospitality Team work together to foster a welcoming environment for all people, especially for those belonging to historically excluded communities and identities. Reporting to the College President, the Director of Advancement and Fundraising is responsible for strategic development and execution of annual and long-range plans to engage, identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward philanthropic institutional support for the Kentucky College of Art + Design (KyCAD). This part-time position is responsible for managing rehearsal setup and weekly check-in/attendance of LYO student musicians during the regular LYO season.
