Dear Faith Family,

I can’t wait to gather together for worship this Sunday!  Not only are we going to be continuing in our study of 1 John, but we will also get to celebrate the ordinance of baptism!  We have four who will be following the Lord in believer’s baptism this week.  They include:  Beckett Baker, Mason Sprung, Audrey Sprung, and Molly Spinks.

I’m also excited for us to pray over a small team who will be going to North Africa next week. I get to lead a group that includes:  Clayton Knight, Daniel Beck, Sarah Schlappe, and Jessica Bowman.  We’d love for you to commit to praying for us while we are gone.   We will be leaving on Thursday, May 26, and returning on Saturday, June 4.

Don’t forget that this Sunday is also our day to prayerwalk our five different neighborhoods where we will be hosting Summer Kid’s Clubs!  We want to flood these streets with prayer, door hangers, and invitations.  I’m so thankful for our Life Groups taking the lead on this!

Good things are happening at First Hewitt!  I can’t wait to see you on Sunday!

You are loved!

Pastor Chris

Special Called Business Meeting

This Sunday, May 22, we will have a brief Special-Called Business Meeting right after our morning service.  This meeting aims to address a request from the McLennan County Appraisal District.

The McLennan Country Appraisal District has notified us that we need to renew our tax-exempt status for our church property.  One of the requirements of the IRS and Secretary of State of Texas is that our founding documents must have an appropriate dissolution clause.  A dissolution clause is meant to address what happens to the assets and property of a church if the organization ever ceases to exist or needs to dissolve.

Obviously, our church is in a very healthy place.  We do not foresee this ever being an issue, but we need to comply with the law.  So, this Sunday, May 22, we will ask our church members to vote on this dissolution clause (CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE CLAUSE).

If you have any questions or concerns, please email or call the church office.

Operation Christmas Child (OCC)

WE NEED YOUR HELP as we serve as a missionary throughout the world from Hewitt, TX. The Senior Adult  Ministry is doing just that by collecting items each month for our Operation Christmas Child Boxes.  During May, we are collecting stuffed animals, small sports balls for 100 boxes.  We are still in need of some of our previous months items - hair accesories, jump ropes, flash lights, yoyos in addition to the items for this month. Thanks for your help each month by supporting missions around the world.

Senior Tuesdays

Please join us on Tuesdays from 2-4. We are busy making gifts for children around the world as we fill Operation Christmas Child boxes with a few extra items. We are learning to make beanie hats on a knitting loom, rubber band salvation bracelets, and we will be making jump ropes out of t-shirts. We need donations of old t-shirts. We are also making baby blankets out of loop it yarn to donate to new baby families.

Dominoes & puzzle tables are also available for those who just want to fellowship together.

Summer Kids' Club is right around the corner and registration is now OPEN!

We are so excited to be hosting our Summer Kids' Clubs in five different locations this year! Our dates this year are June 6-10 from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM.

Summer Kids' Club is an exciting way for children to enjoy 5 nights of fun, games, and crafts in a outdoor environment. This year we are kicking creativity into high gear with our new Spark Studios theme.  We are going to be teaching kids that God is the Master Artist of all things.  Kids will see the beautiful truth that they are God's worksmanship as they learn to use their talents to bring glory to God.

Registration is easy.  Just click the link below and fill out the form with the location you'd like to attend.

This Summer, we've got an exciting opportunity for families of all ages and sizes to serve together.  Are you single, retired, a family of 2, or a family of many more?  This trip is for you!

We have worked out a partnership with Glorieta Camps in New Mexico to spend a week (July 2-8) on campus helping them with a variety of projects. Glorieta is an incredible place with a rich heritage of transforming lives with the Gospel.  Our team will mobilize families to help with painting, minor repairs, cleaning, organizing, and any other projects on campus.

It is a beautiful place and perfect for families to serve together!  The cost of the trip will be around $500 per family and less for couples or singles.  This includes:  lodging, food, and supplies.  It doesn't cover the cost of travel to and from Glorieta or any excursions or extra activities while there.  If you'd like more information or to sign up, please fill out the registration form below!
