Thanks to those who joined us last week!

Last Monday we had an information session for families and community members interested in learning more about our union, hearing recent updates, and learning about next steps. If you missed it, you can see the slides below (including notes on questions parents brought up.)

Important action items coming out of that meeting:

Help us communicate with parents and give them the information they need! We have a group of educators and parents collaborating on simple messaging to help raise awareness among more families. Can you join and help? Email us!
Mark your calendars to attend the next Board Meeting on Wednesday, June 15. Email jpetreyjuarez@hightechhigh.org to get your name on the speaker list. View our shared calendar and add to your own.
Support teachers as they bargain! Wear blue on Bargaining Days - our next date is May 25. Let teachers know you support and appreciate them, and let central administration know that retaining teachers is important to your family.
Advocate for charter school funding. Contact your CA legislators to ask them not to cut funding to charter schools due to attendance during the pandemic. Details here.
Stay informed and spread the word! Make sure you are getting our emails and following our social media, and encourage other families to do the same. We are limited in how we can reach out to parents, so need parents to opt in to our communications.

Please help share this information! We know that our contact lists are not yet complete (and that we are all buried in emails!) but we feel strongly that everyone should have access to information.
