2022 Season Wrap Up Events
It's hard to believe the end of spring little league is coming to an end this month! So much to be celebrating as our players finish their final games of the year. Great teamwork out on the fields, strong hitting and pitching, amazing skills development across the board for our players. A successful movie night fundraiser event and San Jose Giants little league community building day, and lots of smiles and laughter along the way. We are proud of our players and families and hope to finish out the season together over the next couple of weeks. We have information to share with our families about closing ceremonies for each of our divisions after final games, the selection of our Briarwood All-Stars players, and play off games to send off our Briarwood teams to tournament of champion (TOC) games.

Division Close Outs: Each Division will have its closing ceremony after their last game. Briarwood Board Members will greet Coaches after their final game out on the field (Tball, Rookie, Farm) to say a few words to the players/teams and will hand out trophies and/or medals for players. Minor & Majors will have a joint closeout on the Major field. Board members will be in contact with coaches about your team's close out.
2022 Briarwood All Stars
Briarwood will be announcing the 2022 10U and 12U all-star teams during the Minor/Major Team closing ceremony. All Stars is an opportunity to have Briarwood players go up against other All-star teams in our district and compete in elimination games for district titles. We invite all our Briarwood families to come out and root for the All Star teams, and as Briarwood fields will be hosting games, it's a great way to come out and see some exciting baseball being played!

Purpose of All-Star Teams?
The purpose of All-Stars is to achieve success on the field with teams that are positioned to win while also maintaining our league objective. Participating on an All-Star Team is a privilege and all conduct by players and coaches on and off the field during the season will be taken into consideration for the selection of All-Stars.

Who selects the All-Stars?
According to our by-laws, BELL’s All-Star players are selected each year by a Committee consisting of the League President, Vice President, Player Agent, and the Managers and one Assistant Coach from each Majors and Minors Division team. This Committee will convene in person following the end of the regular season for the purpose voting on the players who will represent BELL on the League’s All-Star teams.

Player selection eligibility - The 12u team can be comprised of players league age 10-12 years old. The 10u team can be comprised of players league age 8-10 years old. Players must also be living in or going to a school in our league boundaries.

Coaches inquiry - League Managers and Assistant Coaches may apply for the positions of Managers and Assistant Coaches of BELL’s All-Star teams by sending an email indicating their desire to be considered to anyone on the elected Board of Directors. Application emails must be received by Memorial Day weekend.
WHAT IS THE TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS?

After the conclusion of the regular season and in-house playoffs, many leagues within District 44 are interested in continuing to participate in organized tournament. Tournament of Champions (TOC), separate and from the District All Star Tournament, provide local leagues an option to extend the Little League season. This event also provide opportunities for players who are not participating in the District All Star Tournament an opportunity to experience the excitement of tournament play.

The division winner from the following divisions: Minors, Majors, Intermediate, & Junior will go on to play in District 44 TOC. Games are hosted at variety of local little league fields, including Briarwood.
June 13-June 20th TOC games run.
Little League Advance Baseball Division 2023
Did you know we have TWO advanced baseball leagues for our 13 & 14 year old players?
  • The Intermediate Division (A.k.a. 50/70): For players that are 13 Years Old. The baseball diamond is slightly larger than the one used for the major division of Little League (46’/60’) This is a great division of play with REAL BASEBALL RULES. Developed for those players that may not feel as comfortable at the Junior level, and who need a transition season before moving up to the bigger field.
  • The Junior Division: Players that are 13-14 years old and played on a 60’/90’ Field. The Baseball Dimond is similar to the field played on at the High School level.
The 2023 Season starts near the end of March or the Start of April which means we can really practice and develop as teammates.  Our goal is to develop new friendships, and a life time of Little League baseball memories. Keep an eye out to register to for next season!
We are looking for volunteers to serve on our 2022-23 Briarwood Little League Board! Help us run our league, bring your passion and ideas for developing our league for our Briarwood community! Nominations for next year's elected board of director positions will open at the end of the season. We have plenty of appointed positions as well to fill and build our board! More details to follow!
