Olive Gibbs - Local Documentary Film
Did you know Olive Gibbs, Labour politician and peace campaigner; a great character who devoted her life to the people of Oxford? Without Olive, twice mayor of Oxford and once Lady Mayoress, the city would be a very different place. Traffic might be speeding on a ring road across Christ Church Meadow, while most of Jericho, one of the city’s most well-loved areas, would have disappeared.
Filmmaker Helen Shepherd is looking for people with memories of Olive for a film about her life. Did you meet or work with Olive? Did you watch as Oxford’s infamous Cutteslowe Walls were demolished? Helen would love to hear from you! Please contact Helen Sheppard at email: mail@helensheppard.co.uk or telephone: 07889 541950

Moving Music Concert at Radley College on 15th June 2022

Place Making or Making Place? Part of the Age Of Creativity Festival 2022
Thursday 19th May 2022 11am-12.30pm online
This professional development event begins an exploration about the role of older people, creativity and culture in 'vibrant' places.
Place Making is not a new concept, but as ‘both a process and a philosophy’ it has been adopted by multiple sectors, policy makers and investors in different ways, collecting multiple nuanced and sometimes contradictory meanings, whether contextualised in concepts of heritage, visitor economy, urban planning, public art, regeneration, social welfare, community activism, tourism, co-operation, or other public policy drivers.
This discussion seeks to explore how different sectors perceive the role of ‘place’ and ‘making’ in relation to creativity and culture and those who experience the most inequality.

Oxfordshire Age Friendly Creative of the Month
We love to hear from our Oxfordshire creatives and share their brilliant work. This month we would like to share this brilliant knitted creation made by Oxfordshire Age Friendly Creative Ambassador Jean Gibbons. Jean used two patterns to knit this lovely green cardigan to incorporate favourite design features including pockets. Jean also has a brown version of this design which she knitted in the 70s and is still a favourite in her wardrobe. What a brilliant example of a sustainable and stylish wardrobe.

We love to share artistic creations from OAFCN members, be it painting, needlecraft, poetry, music or anything that you have made at home or in group settings. If you would like to be included please email a photo to helenfountain@ageukoxfordshire.org.uk
