Courtney Potts spoke about ChatPal at this event showcasing the work of the Ulster University Artificial Intelligence Research Centre (AIRC). Around 30 people were in attendance for this talk, including academic staff and those interested in AI research from industry and local companies in Northern Ireland.

Professor Mike McTear spoke about ChatPal at the Vitalis conference. This ehealth event was in-person only, and Mike’s talk was broadcast as a pre-recorded talk. Frontiers in eMental Health - The Future is Now
An online webinar was organised as part of the eMen project https://www.nweurope.eu/projects/project-search/e-mental-health-innovation-and-transnational-implementation-platform-north-west-europe-emen/. The webinar focused on the future of eMental health, beyond the dramatic shift to using video platforms for therapy sessions during the pandemic. Examples included cutting-edge technologies like Virtual Reality (VR), exposure therapy and EMDR, intelligent agents and chatbots, and dynamic sign-posting.
The talks explored ways that existing eMental health applications like online CBT, blended care approaches, and online screening and assessment tools can drive innovation in the post-pandemic era. The webinar programme included a number of international and Irish experts and practitioners in the eMental health field. Professor Maurice Muvlenna presented on “ChatPal: a digital solution to make a difference to our everyday mental health and wellbeing”. 59 attendees were at the event, including a range of health care professionals and technologists.
