What is the World Health Assembly?
The World Health Assembly (WHA) is the decision-making body of the World Health Organization (WHO). It is attended by delegations from all WHO Member States and focuses on a specific health agenda prepared by the Executive Board. The main functions of the World Health Assembly are to determine the policies of the Organization, appoint the Director-General, supervise financial policies, and review and approve the proposed programme budget.

Time to End RHD: From Promises to Action
The World Heart Federation and the Permanent Mission of Brazil invite you to a high-level event on RHD, where Ministers of Health from some of the most affected countries will join members of the RHD community to discuss efforts to implement the 2018 World Health Assembly Resolution on Rheumatic Fever and RHD and the challenges they have faced.
Innovative interventions and programmes that have been implemented around the globe to tackle RHD will be explored, and opportunities for financing these efforts in low-resource settings highlighted.
