Experience the Beauty of Michigan's "Thumb," and Join Bishop Gruss for Mass at "Seed Time" this Saturday

WHEN: Saturday, May 21 at 11 a.m.

WHERE: Octagon Barn, 6948 Richie Rd., Gagetown

Join Bishop Robert Gruss for Mass and a Blessing of Seeds to celebrate the unique culture of rural life in The Thumb region.

After Mass, join Bishop Gruss for lunch and a presentation. All who live in rural communities are invited to attend, you do not need to own or work on a farm!

Following Mass, theologian Tim Streiff (pictured below) will give a presentation about how living in a rural place helps people stay in touch with God and his creation.

Streiff has a Master of Arts in Theology, including a focus on St. Thomas Aquinas and Environmental Ethics. He also speaks German and serves as Program Manager at Catholic Rural Life.

“Growing up in a rural, agricultural town, I’ve seen the need for additional efforts to spread the Gospel and build up Catholic culture in rural America," Streiff said. "I want to help spread the Gospel in rural places like where I came from."

“Rural life, whether it be in a town or in the country, can put us in touch with the Kingdom message, leading us to a place of trust, a place of patience, a place of faith, all in relation to the Lord,” said Bishop Gruss.
Please consider coming to this Mass and inviting a friend. You're also welcome to bring seeds to be blessed by Bishop Gruss.

Bishop Robert Gruss ordained Matthew Gembrowski as a transitional deacon on Friday, May 13
