2022 Hoosier Auditions

Dear IMTA members,
The state-round Hoosier Auditions were held at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion last Saturday, 5/14. Thanks to all those who helped including Daniel Lin, Chair of Hoosier Auditions, the event ran smoothly and was a great success. There were more than 100 participants. It was perhaps the biggest turnout we have had in my recollection. We hope to see more students entering and performing next year. 
I would also like to remind you that the IMTA 2022 State Conference will be held in-person at Purdue University, Fort Wayne, on October 7 and 8. The commissioned composer this year is Kevin McMahon, Purdue University Fort Wayne. More details will be posted on IMTA website in the very near future. 
The conference planning committee is currently accepting proposals on all aspects of music teaching. Proposals are not limited to those from Indiana. Please consider submitting a proposal yourself and also encourage others who you feel might have an interesting project. The submission deadline is May 31, 11:59pm. 2022 IMTA Teacher of the Year Award Nominations

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2022 Indiana IMTA Teacher of the Year. The deadline for submission is September 1, 2022.

The IMTA Teacher of the Year award recognizes an individual who demonstrates excellence in teaching and service to the music teaching profession and community. 

Recipients are nominated by current members (individuals and/or local associations) and selected by the Teacher of the Year Chair and State President.

The IMTA Teacher of the Year Award is announced and presented at the annual state conference.
