Dinner in the Vineyards : our 2022 edition

Hello Foodies!

Well. It’s here! And I cannot begin to tell you how proud I am of this effort. How many people are involved to make it happen. AND how it organically grew from our Foodies in Switzerland Facebook group. There are so many wonderful people involved whom I cannot even begin to thank.

I hope you join us on 25 June 2022!

Big foodie hugs from me (Jennifer), the core foodie team, & our sponsors.

PS: Please help make it a success by sharing the event in your own networks and with your work colleagues (it could make a great team outing <cheeky grin> :-)

About the event

We’re bringing our tables (and kitchens) to the vines with our 2022 edition of Dinner in the Vineyards. A dramatic location, overlooking Lac Léman with the alpine peaks of the French Alps forming the perfect backdrop, this dinner will be an exceptional culinary experience.

With a team of foodie chefs, local ingredients, and award-winning wine from the historic vineyards of St-Saphorin, the theme of the dinner is “Elegant Abundance”. We’ll be celebrating the bounty of this region. And simply enjoying the evening.

Join us for a day of exploring and fun in this spectacular region of Lavaux. Then, come and celebrate with our special edition of dinner in the vineyards.

  • 150 seats at the table

  • 50 metres of tables winding along a vineyard path

  • a fun apéro

  • a festive meal

  • wine tasting with a half dozen local wine makers

  • an assortment of desserts

  • A fundraising raffle to raise money for refugees from Ukraine (our own version of #cookforUkraine).

These types of events are my favorite and I really enjoyed the last one so I am very excited to come back.

#CookForUkraine Fundraiser

With plans already in place for hosting this dinner when the war started, we wondered how we could help? What could we do? We thought we’d ask our foodiepreneurs in our foodie group about helping create a raffle fundraiser for this event. Our three big prizes for the raffle are :

  • OFYR 100 outdoor grill (value: 2500 CHF)

  • A Miele CM 6560 CH coffee machine (value: 1400 CHF)

  • Hotel de Leman in Jongny: A gift certificate for two people: A dinner, a night, and a breakfast at the boutique hotel (value 425 CHF)

Our community of foodiepreneurs and winemakers has also united to offer a selection of products and services such as experiences, cooking classes, private chef dinners, magnums of wines, and so much more. The raffle tickets will go on sale on 01 June 2022 on EdibleSwitzerland.com and the winners will be announced at the event on 25 June 2022.

Raffle tickets will go on sale on June 1, 2022 at EdibleSwitzerland.com and the winners will be announced at the event on June 25, 2022.

A focus on sustainable wine tourism

It takes time and effort to make changes–to do things differently. But, we are committed to practising sustainable tourism, running zero waste experiences & events and giving back to our community. Everything we plan, everything we do, we believe our efforts will be worth it.

  • We are committed to serving the local economy. Quite literally, we will be serving local ingredients (meat, vegetables, honey and other artisan products) for the dinner paired with local wines and other locally-made beverages.

  • We try to minimise waste through avoidance, reduction, recycling, composting, and separate disposal. We use upcycled plates, cloth napkins, real cups, glasses, and cutlery. And we highly encourage public transportation to and from the event.

  • We are working with local businesses & guides to provide eBikes, electric scooters, and other interesting options to move people around. Be it offering guided tours, or interpretive tastings, or just an educational hike.

  • Additionally, any energy required for this event is provided by green energy company BelairTechnology.com.

  • Supporting community: for our 2022 event, we are organizing a raffle to raise money for charities for Ukrainian refugees in Switzerland. Our version of #cookforUkraine.

Sounds great! I want to book a ticket!
