John Waters on His Debut Novel

Who doesn't love John Waters? Probably lots of people, but that's what makes him so singular.

And now, the director who brought us "Hairspray" and so many other irreverent comedies is a debut novelist. 

Recently, he spoke with our colleagues at GBH in Boston about his new book, "Liarmouth," and keeping things weird.

"I feel at home telling stories," he said. "To me, writing a book or making a movie, I feel equally at home in both those worlds."
