Arcata Chamber Members are in great hands...
Cyril Oberlander, Dean for the Cal Poly Library is our Board Chairman.
Ken Hamik, our Vice Chair, owns The Ganjery, in McKinleyville.
Mark Loughmiller, our Treasurer, owns Kokatat in Arcata.
Matt Kurth, our Board Secretary, owns Humboldt Cannabis Tours.
Lēvia Love, Board Member and Ambassador, is the owner of Bling Brow Bar in Eureka.
Raelina Krikston, Board Member, owns The Stuudiio in Eureka.
Katherine Amy, Board Member, owns Solutions for Small Businesses.
Jim Ritter, Board Member, heads up the Humboldt County Office of Education's "Education at Work" program.
Melanie Schauwecker, Board Member, is the Operations Manager & Rentals Coordinator of the Arcata Playhouse.
These leaders provide a well-rounded blend of expertise, wisdom, and insights to the Chamber's governance.

Great Ribbon Cutting with Mother's Cooking Experience

We enjoyed great music, ceviche and chicken teriyaki samplers, and important words from our Futurist Vice Chair, Ken Hamik.
Mother-Daughter Owner team, Chef Mo and Alby Alawoya, shared their stories about food sovereignty work in the past and plans for more in the future.
We look forward to supporting them in their community service and business plans!

High School Mentorship Program Update

Everything is going very well with our collaborative, high school-business mentorship pilot program!
Weekly activities are underway, and all participants and volunteers are very engaged.
Lēvia Love, Arcata Chamber Board Member, Ambassador, and Owner of Bling Brow Bar, was a guest at our April 21st "success in careers" discussion.
Ken Hamik, Chamber Voice Chair, and Molly Steele, former Chamber Executive Director, volunteered at our May 12th resume/practice interview workshop. Both are pictured here with Arcata High School seniors.
Students attended the HCOE Career & Education Fair as well.
We wish all of the mentees successful futures in business! We thank all of the dedicated partners who have supported and participated in this program
