Today is Columbia University Commencement, and the Climate School is proud to honor our 2022 graduates. This year marks the first year of Climate School graduates from the MA Climate and Society program. We congratulate the Climate and Society graduates, graduates of affiliated Columbia undergraduate and graduate sustainability education programs, and all members of the Class of 2022 from across the university.
In her Climate School Class Day keynote address on May 13, Peggy Shepard, founder and executive director of WE ACT for Environmental Justice, delivered a call to action: "Those of us who have been privileged to achieve education, skills, and experiences, and even power, we must be role models. We must be changemakers with the spirit of justice, collaboration, and ethical leadership. We can all be changemakers. That is our challenge for you today.”
Columbia Climate School students are ready and eager to take up this challenge, and we can't wait to see the difference they make in the world. Congratulations to the Class of 2022!
