SPRING 2022 NEWSLETTER
In my area, Spring has sprung, and I am a little late getting my newsletter out for this quarter! This edition is full of ideas for photography with kids, a new cheat sheet, some learning opportunities, and includes tips and tricks for upcoming summer photo ops (fireworks anyone?).

Read on in this edition for all of this and more!
Did you get an opportunity to witness the lunar eclipse "blood moon" earlier this month? It was a fantastic sight, even if you didn't have the right equipment to photograph it. Sometimes we have to realize the limitations of our camera gear and just take in the view with our eyes!

If you are interested in astrophotography, here are some links to tips and tricks for getting the most from your gear whether you have a wide angle lens or a telephoto (the image above was taken with a 600mm zoom) or even a smartphone. Most manufacturers offer articles and learning resources on their websites and keep in mind that the basics of photography are the same no matter what camera brand you have. This means that an article on Nikon's website can still be a great resource for a Canon or Olympus user and vice versa.

Nikon - How to Photograph a Lunar Eclipse
Canon - Photographing the Milky Way & Night Sky

Olympus - Astrophotography Tips
Smartphone - Astrophotography 3 Ways

Photography Learning Opportunity!

B&H Photo Video is offering a FREE online learning conference called OPTIC 2022 from June 12-15.

B&H is a great resource for learning - they have a blog, a library of resources, and a YouTube channel. This conference is just one more great offering from a great company I highly recommend them for buying new gear and I recommend KEH in Atlanta* for used gear.

Use this link to register and select "online" as your participation type. You will then get an email with your tickets and emails reminding you of the event as it gets closer.

*I am an affiliate of KEH, if you use this link to purchase anything I get a small commission at no cost to you.

The current edition covers lots of updates on new cameras, lenses and more.

Keeping up with all of the news blurbs and rumors is time consuming; therefore this will be the last camera news link. This applies only to camera news. I will still be sending out this type of newsletter that you are currently reading.

In the future, all rumors and news will be shared on my Twitter feed as retweets as I come across them. This will be a time saver for me and will get news and sales info to you in a more timely manner as well. If you don't follow me on Twitter, click the Twitter icon at the bottom of this newsletter and follow.
