Rabbi on Sabbatical
June 6 - August 28, 2022

Rabbi's Sabbatical

Rabbi's SabbaticalAfter missing out on his last opportunity thanks to COVID shutdowns, the Rabbi is preparing to leave for his sabbatical in a couple of weeks. He will be out of the office from June 6 - August 28. The Ritual Committee has been working hard to make sure we have all the services covered. We will still be here to cover all of your religious needs. While it won't quite be the same, we are hopeful we can fill in while the Rabbi is out recharging his batteries.

Bob should be able to help you with anything you need while the Rabbi is out. However, if you want to speak with him before he leaves, please be sure to do so prior to June 6th. He will be missed greatly, so be sure to wish him well on his time off!
Last Day of Religious School
Color War Gallery
CKA Color WarThe 2021-22 Religious School year has come to an end. Thank you so much to all of the parents, students, and teachers for making this another fantastic school year at CKA. To end the year with a bang, we held a Color War, many other activities, and fed everyone hot dogs. It is always such a joy to gather all together for these big events. We are looking forward to the next one already. Please enjoy the photo gallery we took at the event by using this link. Have a great summer!

The Last Rose of Shanghai

The Last Rose of ShanghaiWhat a wonderful experience we had Saturday night with former congregant and author, Weina Dai Randel. She discussed inspiration, research, and writing processing in creating her latest novel in depth. The context she provided will make an already fantastic novel into one that much more enjoyable. We cannot thank Weina enough for taking the time to share with us; it was a perfect evening.

While she was there, Mrs. Randel met with people, wrote dedications, and signed their books. We are lucky enough to have a few signed copies left over and available for sale. If you are interested in purchasing one, please follow this link. We can ship it to you, or if you live in the local area you can pick it up at the synagogue.

Stop the Bleed Class
Bleeding Control Kits

Bleeding Control KitWe had an amazing session last night with the Flower Mound Fire Department and Chief Floyd. He provided all the information we need to help with critical bleeding in a crisis situation. If you missed out on the class, don’t worry. We are coordinating with the FMFD to continue this program quarterly. Be sure to join to learn critical skills that might save a life someday.

After completing the class, we had several questions about where one might acquire a bleeding control kit for themselves. Although we are not sponsored by nor promoting any particular vendor, I’ve put together a list of kits that could fulfill your needs that are sold by North American Rescue. You can find all the details and options by clicking on this link.

Thanks to everyone that attended last night! I hope you found the class as enlightening as I did. Please keep an eye on the website for future training in Stop the Bleed and other upcoming courses! L’shalom!
