Let’s Plant a Garden!

Thank you for signing up for a micro-meadow installation!

We are picking up our plants this Thursday and Friday! WooHoo!!! We are now ready to schedule garden installations. First, I’ll tell you how the process works and what you should expect. Next, you can click on the link to our scheduling app, Appointlet. Finally, please consider making a contribution on Patreon. Our services are fully funded by people like you, for people like you. Give the gift you are receiving to others.

1. A significant amount of our work is performed by volunteers, some of whom have received gardens in the past. Generally 1-4 volunteers will show up for a planting. We also ask that you be out working with us unless you have a compelling reason not to. This is about community building through native plant gardening. Your hands-on experience will greatly benefit you and your community!

2. Your Community Leader (me, William!) will show up at the agreed time. We will have a 30 minute consultation about your landscape. During this consultation, we will determine the best location for your planting. This will be based on your needs and wants as well as the ecological realities of your landscape. Sometimes the gardens get placed in existing beds, sometimes we create new beds in the lawn, and sometimes you have a native garden already there and we need to do some weeding to reveal it.

3. Volunteers arrive and we review the consultation with them. Then we get to preparing the site and planting. Preparation involves removing unwanted vegetation (whether it’s lawn or weeds). Please have room available in your compost bin, if you have one. We will also have compost bags available. After removing the existing vegetation, we will lay out the native species Adapt provides, talk a bit about design, and then plant. You’ll LOVE how quick planting is when you have the right tool!
Our gardens are roughly 40 square feet in area.

4. Water, and we’re done!

It sounds too easy to be true right? But it is true! We will have a lot of fun, you’ll learn a lot, and we’ll all get to do some great work together. If you have any questions (and I’m sure you do), please write and ask. We are here for you.

Please schedule now for a time between Monday, May 23rd and June 24th when we can plant your garden. Send me a message if you are unable to schedule during those time. Plantings take place M-F, 8:30 -11:30 or 12-3.

Notes…
We determine which species to bring based on Google aerial photos, USDA soil maps, and prevalence of species in natural areas near your home

Mr Campbell after a spring planting in 2020. Mr Campbell is a donor on Patreon because he wants to Adapt continue to grow and bring our services to more and more people. Please donate today and help us toward our next goal of having 300 contributors by July! Thank you so much, and we’ll see you in a few weeks!
