In fall 2021, a number of Orchard families signed up to sponsor a child through the World Vision program with a focus on building a relationship with the child and their family.

The Global Missions Team is hosting a potluck dinner on Saturday, May 21 at 6 pm to connect and share with each other about our relationships with the children in Florida, Honduras.

We invite you to join us for dinner to talk about your exchanges with your sponsored child and spend a few minutes writing an encouraging note to your child and their family.

All are welcome, even if you did not sponsor a child.

Confession
It is a complicated word with mixed emotions. 
It is uncomfortable to admit when we are wrong, exposing our sin. We want others to do it but we find it difficult to do it ourselves. 

But there are many positives to confession

  • Positive Redemption
  • Honesty and Truth
  • Relief - "Getting it off my chest"
  • Maturity - owning our wrongdoings
  • Repairing damaged relationships
  • Forgiveness AND Purification by God

BANK BILL PAY

Your bank most likely offers a bill pay service. Go to your bank’s website and log on to your account. Find the “Bill Pay” tab and set up a one-time or recurring payment. Your check will be mailed to the church office.

Write your own check. Make it payable to “Orchard Community Church” and drop it by or mail it to the church office.

Quilting Ministry Update!

We are hoping to restart the quilting ministry after a couple of years hiatus. This is a ministry that prays over and gifts handmade quilts for members in our congregation that may be experiencing a challenging time, an illness, or who are welcoming a new baby. Colleen Schulze will be heading it up and has some fun ideas for quilting get-togethers and projects. If you are interested (no prior experience necessary), please send Colleen an email at cschulze24@gmail.com. She’ll add you to the list and get you more info!

Come join us for a neighborhood cleanup along Telephone Road, neighboring streets and Kimball Park.

It’s easy, all ages are welcome, and it’s a great testament to our care for our community! 

Suggested items to bring:

  • Trash bag
  • Tool for picking up trash
  • Gloves
  • Water, sunscreen, & hat

This event will be a part of ACTION Ventura County’s Love VC day, which coordinates faith communities from across the county to come together in service
