Civic Tech Surgery #4 - catch up and apply to join the Action Lab

Last week saw us come together for the fourth online TICTeC Civic Tech Surgery, our hands-on programme for fixing some of the prevalent problems in civic tech. We discussed the challenges of amplifying civic tech projects and their successes through mainstream channels with practitioners from across the world, as well as their solutions and ideas to tackle these. Catch up on this Surgery with the recording and minutes here.
Following this Surgery, we are convening an Action Lab (aka working group), who will work together to commission a piece of work to help solve common challenges raised by Surgery attendees. Applications to join this Action Lab are now open: see more information here. Closing date 7th June.

Book now for Surgeries #5 and #6

Civic Tech Surgeries #5 and #6 are now open for bookings. Join us on 14th July for Learning from climate action – how can civic tech drive impactful societal change?
Through the lens of climate action, we’ll discuss the opportunities and challenges in using civic tech to encourage people to change and coordinate their behaviour in ways that can cause significant changes in society.

And on 8th September we'll be discussing Civic tech in hostile environments – how can we thrive in challenging contexts?
Globally, the civic tech community faces challenges from working in hostile environment, from facing everyday government resistance to operating in conflict and post-conflict societies. In this surgery, we will examine some of the common challenges and how we can support each other in solving them.
