Mathew 5:14
"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way,
let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven"

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

In 2011 The First Congregational Church of Asheville led the way in Creation Care by installing Solar Panels at their church. This decision was made as they considered what they could do to love their neighbors and God and leave a legacy of hope to their children and grandchildren; showing that the church cares for the world they will inherit. This legacy has inspired many other churches to love the same and now many churches in Asheville have gone solar, shining their light for all to see.

We at Grace have been encouraged to do the same by a few powerful advocates within our congregation. I am grateful for their voices of passion and dedication. Now we wish to explore if our church might become the next church to shine our light of love from our hill in North Asheville by installing solar panels on our roof.

We are reaching out to see what support we have for this ministry of care and love. If you feel passionate that Grace should take this stance and action please email me, rev.milly4Grace@gmail.com and let me know of your support and if you would be able to make a donation to the effort. We would need to raise $20,000 to make this effort possible.

I will be available with a few vestry members to answer any questions you may have after church on Sunday during coffee hour in the parish hall. Please send me an email and/or join us to discuss the details this Sunday after church.

Thank you to those that are encouraging this action, and to those of you that are inspired to advocate for Grace to join with the others who are shining their lights for all to see, and to glorify God who gave us this beautiful creation to enjoy and care for!

Peace,
Rev. Milly
