Ongoing Criticism of Higher Ed Affordability


With ~86K mentions this week, the affordability of higher education, forgiveness of student debt, and the ripple effect of economic uncertainty remain top of mind. Historically, when these topics feature prominently in the online conversation, universities can anticipate heightened scrutiny around several common themes: 

Student Mental Health and Suicide Contagion


Research has shown that when a student tragically dies by suicide, there is an increased risk of additional suicides within the campus community. This is known as suicide contagion.

In addition to research conducted by the Higher Education Mental Health Alliance, we analyzed several best practice examples where universities took actionable steps toward preventing this contagion phenomenon.
