The Ministry Minute
The term often used for members who can't attend worship or are gather with us as a church family is a "shut-in". Even though these individuals may be shut in, they are NOT shut out from the power of the gospel and the love of Jesus. This love was demonstrated recently by the winGs group as they assembled these bags to be distributed by Pastor Schultz.
"winGs" stands for "women in God's service", with the G intentionally capitalized while the w stays lower case to emphasis the focus is on Jesus and his love for us. All women can join this group at any time. It meets for planning and projects on the second Tuesday of the month, September - May.

Bible Studies
NEW Adult Instruction Course: Essential Christianity - is meeting on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and runs for 5 weeks. This class is a great review for members and a wonderful place to ask questions and find answers in God's Word. Email Pastor Cloute cloutejr@hotmail.com to register.
Adult Bible Class— Sunday at 9:15 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.).How to Respond: "There are just so many things I don't like about the church!" There are a thousand reasons. I don’t like the music. The Pastor is weird. The people are gossips. The donuts have changed. The services are too long. People aren’t friendly enough. I can watch it all online. And the list goes on and on. Maybe you’ve heard some of these before, or maybe you’ve thought them yourself. So why do you need to connect yourself with an imperfect community? What’s the point of coming to church if you are just going to be frustrated and challenged? This Sunday in Adult Bible Class – 9:15 Fellowship Hall (basement) - we will seek to answer this question based on God’s Word. Childcare is now available for 1-2 year olds during the Bible class.Infants younger than 1 year are also welcome dependent on the number of kiddos attending and the number of teen providers each Sunday. No signup is needed for using this childcare. This will be located in the family room behind the sanctuary.
Teen Bible Class—There will be no study this week. Teens should attend the adult Bible Study on May 22
Children’s Sunday School—Sundays at 9:15 a.m.
Adult Bible Class and Sunday School will meet for the last time on May 22nd before beginning summer break. We look forward to meeting again in the fall.
Women’s Bible Study—Fridays at 7:00 a.m. in the conference room at church. We are currently studying 10 Lies About God by Pastor David Scharf. Come and join us on Fridays.

On Sunday, May 29th, we will acknowledge our 2022 High School Graduates during our worship services. We hope all of our 2022 graduates are able to be in attendance that day.
Member Care Team
The Member Care Team’s June meeting is set for 6:30pm on Wednesday, June 15th. We will gather in the fellowship hall in the basement for a devotion, light refreshments and a time to brainstorm ways to bring and keep the members of St. Luke’s close to each other and closer to Jesus. If anyone would like to join our team, please come to the meeting and learn what we are about.
DockHounds Event – June 5th 2022
We are a few short weeks away from our 1st annual St. Luke's Tailgate and DockHounds fellowship outing on June 5th. This is the last notice for tickets! The ticket link will only be available until May 24th. It will be closing at 5:00 pm that day! If our 50 tickets are sold out, you could still attend the game by purchasing tickets directly from the DockHounds but you would not be in the same section as our group.

Wanted-Old/Used Candles: Don’t throw away those old/used candles. Twice Is Nice uses them for making campfire fire starters. Glass jar candles can also be recycled. You can place your candles in the bucket that is located next to the bubbler in the entryway.

This is a Co-ed team meant for fun fellowship. Our games are every Wednesday night at 6:30p. There is a Saturday tournament the beginning of August. There are no game obligations if you would like to join. We would love to have you on the team.

Jesus told Peter in John 21:15-17 "feed my lambs". He was talking spiritually but in the verses before Jesus feeds them physically first. Let us here at St. Luke's do the same by once again getting involved for the third summer in the program called "Summer Sandwiches in the Park". Last summer St. Luke's fed 467 people at a cost of $2.25 per person. Thanks be to God!
What is "Summer Sandwiches in the Park"? During the summer vacation, each Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (that's us!) and Friday free bag lunches will be provided at area parks. Each lunch will include a protein rich sandwich, fruit, veggies, cookie or granola bar, and a carton of milk. Water and 100% juice boxes will be available for those with milk allergies.
Every Thursday, St. Luke's will serve at the Clark Park shelter from 11:30am-12:30pm beginning in June until late August. Lunches will be served rain or shine under the shelter, only canceled in case of severe weather warnings.
Volunteers will be needed and are a critical part of this ministry. We will need a team each Thursday from 9:30am-1pm, making, packing, serving, and cleaning up. We will be making many lunches per Thursday, and serving for 12 weeks. This takes many hands to do. You will be rewarded with some great friendships and the joy of watching many families know that St. Luke's cares about them.
Starting May 8th we are collecting a few more things. They are:
Someone who can speak SPANISH. A person who can speak some Spanish to join us some time during our serving at the park, from 11:30am-12:30pm., when they can.
A wagon (new or used).
Creamy peanut butter.
Used WELS publications for adults and children and used Bibles (collection box in church entryway).
Prepackaged foods such as granola bars, chips, cookies, applesauce/fruit cups, fruit snacks, rice crispy bars, and pudding cups. Please check freshness date thru the end of August this year. Food donations are being collected in the church kitchen on the counter space marked “Summer sandwiches”.

Announcing a wonderful opportunity to support our St. Luke's member students at MLC through the MLC Congregational Partner Grant Program for academic year 2022-2023. Since the inception of this program six years ago, St. Luke's has participated fully to support our member students reach their ministry goals! We met these financial needs through support from the Trust Fund and many generous gifts from our members.
For this coming school year, we have the opportunity to support seven member students reach their ministry goals at MLC with the gift of $1,200 per student. We are looking for additional gifts of approximately $5,000 to support our member students. All funds received in excess of this amount will be held in the Trust Fund designated to this program for future years. ROC Rummage/Bake Salewill be held on July 21-23 in the TSL Clark Street gym. Volunteers will be needed from July 15-25th for various tasks. Are you planning on attending the 2022 WELS Night at American Family Field on Friday, July 8th? If you’d like to avoid the hassle of driving and paying for parking, consider this option. St. Matthew’s/Oconomowoc has a bus that will be leaving from its school (located on Brown Street, not at the church) at 4:00 p.m. that day. To cover the cost of transportation, driver, and parking, riders will be paying $10.00 per person. We are also tailgating before the game. If interested, you can bring a dish to pass, what you’d like to drink, a lawn chair and an additional $3.00 per person for a sub sandwich, fun and fellowship before the game. Need tickets? The Tri-County Chapter of Christian Life Resources is in need of your financial help as well as help in volunteering. Donations are critical to enable them to continue helping those in need. They also need your help by giving of your time at the various locations. The Life Centers need receptionists, client advocates, help with other tasks, and volunteers at the thrift stores. More information is available below. The Tri-County Chapter supports Alpha Resource Center, Tomorrow’s Choice and Blue Butterfly.

Join fellow WELS/ELS Singles for hiking at Lapham Peak! (W239 N846 County Rd C, Delafield WI 53018) We will meet in the Evergreen Parking Lot.
