Riverside Naturally AGM
Monday 20th June at 7.30am
We are delighted to invite you to meet us in person at the Riverside Lawn Bowling Club for our first 'in person" AGM.
We are looking forward to sharing our past years challenges and successes and let you know what our plans are for the next year.
Our meeting will be followed by a walk to our Story Garden, passing through the Orchard and our Woodland Wonderland allowing everyone to enjoy the blooming gardens and ask us any questions and concluding with a story in the willow arbour.
Refreshments and cakes will be provided and we look forward to seeing you there.
At our AGM we appoint our board of trustees and currently have two vacancies.
If you have an enthusiasm for nurturing and protecting Riverside's trees and greenspaces in an environmentally conscientious way and have a few hours a month to spare, we'd love to hear from you. All levels of experience and skills are welcome and if you'd like to talk to us - please get in touch.
We spent a lot of time this month working on our compost bays. Over the colder months they served as a great habitat for lots of creatures looking for shelter. Now the weather is milder it is a perfect time to sort out the bays without disrupting the inhabitants. When the contents have broken down a little more it will make a perfect mulch for our woodland gardens.
Spotted In Riverside
This beautiful red campion has popped up in our wild flower path. It is loved by long tonged pollinators, particularly bumblebees. But watch out - folklore says that it guards the honey stores of defensive fairies! It used to be used to cure snakebites - but not anymore, maybe because the fairies shooed people away!
Ever wondered if there are any hedgehogs living in Riverside? Over the next few weeks, using footprint tunnels, we are going to be undertaking a survey to see if any of our prickly pals are living in the green spaces and gardens in Riverside.

On Saturday 4th June, Riverside Community Council organised a Family Fun Jubilee event. In the glorious sun Riverside Naturally offered some fun activities including a bug hunting bio blitz, tree and vegetable planting, an orchard trail and had a great time meeting and talking to lots of people who were enjoying the day.
Enjoy pictures from the Jubilee Celebrations here.
We'd love to welcome you to Riverside Naturally - we believe that our volunteers are what makes our charity so special.
No experience is necessary and everyone is welcome. We undertake a range of activities and there are many opportunities if you volunteer with us.
