The clock is ticking and my heart is beating fast. In less than 2 weeks our whole family will meet up with this amazing group of believers in Washington D.C. for briefing. And then I (Marcia) will be flying to Ghana with them to stay for the next 2.5 weeks! 

I am leading this mission. Although I have led international summer missions before, this one is unique. We will be doing campus ministry (which is usual), but with a people whom I have never interacted with (Ghanians) in a place I have never been (Ghana, Africa), where some hold to a religion I have little experience encountering (Islam). 

Additionally, our team will be helping a partner organization with educating children who are impoverished and who were rescued from human trafficking (which is new for me). We will share Jesus with these children and help them experience joy and development in Christ!

As I won't be with my family during this experience, my heart is a bit anxious about their well-being, about me coming home to them without hinderances, and about my focus on leading the mission.

I will be sending updates periodically while overseas, but please will you intercede on behalf of me, my family, our mission team, and the partners we have in Ghana? 

• Pray we are able to serve the organizations and students well with our gifts and resources.
• Pray the Spirit would lead us.
• Pray God would protect us from any severe sickness and hardships so that we are able to stay focused and joy-filled on the mission.
• Pray for the college students and K-12 students we will be serving - that they would have their necessities provided for and they would heal and grow deeply with Jesus!
