Masterclass in Steamboat Springs

Jerome travelled to Steamboat Springs earlier this month for a weekend Masterclass in Forest Garden Greenhouses at Elkstone Farm. He discussed topics such as construction of high-altitude greenhouses, soil building techniques, disease and pest control, the secrets of companion planting and the use of microclimates within the greenhouse and around it. There were hands-on workshops in Elkstone's climate battery greenhouse. We also enjoyed delicious farm-to-table lunches from Chef Russell Goodman! Yum! |

Visit from Zimbabwean Eisenhower Fellow
|

We had the special privilege of hosting a member of the Zimbabwe Ministry of the Environment, Kudakwashe Manyanga. The minister plans to plant 5 million fruit trees in Zimbabwe as a resilience and financial well-being project. In preparation, he came to the region to visit Farm Collaborative Aspen and a few other innovative projects in the region, including CRMPI. Kareen Erbe of Broken Ground talks with Jerome about raising rabbits. Jerome raises rabbits in a colony, as opposed to in hutches. In this video, Kareen and Jerome talk about the benefits of raising rabbits, various strategies that eliminate the need to buy rabbit food as well as how to go about building a structure that houses the animals.
