Creative Kete retains the fundamentals of our Schools Education kaupapa, which is to help guide students through a process that allows them the freedom to make their own creative decisions while introducing new learning pathways into the process of artmaking.
Te Ao Maori is regularly acknowledged at the centre of our workshop development, which often incorporates indigenous technologies and craft techniques, atua, and other storytelling elements to explore aspects of NZ national and local history, culture and identity, in line with the New Zealand Education curriculum.

The theme and lesson for this inaugural Creative Kete episode is titled: 'Reimagining the Landscape', a painting workshop that challenges traditional notions of landscape painting.
The instructional video guides students through three processes that are designed to encourage a unique and playful approach to painting, resulting in the creation of an individual work that depicts each student’s reimagined landscape. The three steps are designed to fit into the school day (or across multiple days at your discretion) and would ideally be completed over 2 to 3 sessions.
