Reshaping the future of our visitor services!
The tourism industry has had a significant shake up and now is a good time to review how future visitor servicing could look like. As part of this Council is inviting businesses to participate in a industry survey, which will help to evolve our future visitor and tourism service offerings.

Gippsland Business Awards 2022 - Last chance to nominate

The Gippsland Business Awards are back and ready to celebrate all that Gippsland businesses have to offer in 2022. The Federation University Gippsland Business Awards encourage you to nominate your business, or a business you admire, in this year's awards program.

Events Make Good Business - Industry Networking Dinner
We are extending an invitation to Events Make Good Business, two industry networking nights brought to you by East Gippsland Shire Council with support from Latrobe Valley Authority.
 
These events will launch three newly developed toolkits designed to help foster greater collaboration between event organisers and businesses and community groups. 

We are proud to welcome three guest speakers each night, including our keynote speaker, Vicky Lowry from the iconic event Deniliquin Ute Muster. The two events will be hosted in Lakes Entrance and Bairnsdale. Book your tickets here

Gippsland Forestry Taster Program

The Gippsland Forestry Hub is proud to present the ‘Gippsland Forestry Taster Program’ being held for three days over two consecutive weeks: 20 – 22 June and 27 – 29 June.

This free 3-day program will showcase how a career in Forestry can be very gratifying, whether it’s working outside planting, driving a Harvester on a coupe, or mapping out future plantations with some particularly good skills behind you, it can take you into a rewarding career.

Business support and grants
Boosting female founders - Round 3
Supporting women entrepreneurs to grow their startups.
This program will provide targeted support on a co-contribution basis to female founders of startup businesses to scale into domestic and global markets. The program will also offer expert mentoring and advice to a select number of eligible applicants.

Eligible applicants can apply for grants between $100,000 and $480,000. Find further information

Small Business Digital Adaptation Program 
The small business digital adaptation program provides $1200 rebates so small businesses can access a range of digital business tools. The product must be purchased from the supplier by 18 July 2022, or before the program’s funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.

Mental Health and Wellbeing Support 
The Victorian Government is supporting small business owners, their employees and trusted advisers with helpful tools and services through Headway – a wellbeing initiative for small businesses. Responsible Tourism Project
Tourism Australia and Destination Gippsland are conducting a research project on the impact of tourism on the local environment, community, and culture. The feedback will help tailor communications for travellers in specific regions to educate and encourage responsible and respectful travel.
