Amalgamation Update!

From Alma, Bethany, and Elora United Churches

Your church might join forces with two others.  If we decide this is the right path, our current church identity would end.  Alma United, Bethany United, and Elora United would all put our energies into forming a new congregation together!  Building on the strengths of each congregation, we would be a new congregation, with a new name, and a renewed mission.

The Amalgamation Steering Team, with representatives from all three faith communities, has been having rich, honest, and hopeful conversations together.  Their report will be presented to all three congregations together – so mark May 29th on your calendars!

We are still compiling possible names – and May 29^th (at the Praise and Presentation event) will be the last chance to suggest names.  Before then, relay your suggestions to John Williams (johnlw@sentex.net).
 

The update letter includes:

• Information about the special Praise and Presentation Sunday on May 29th. Please note that this service is at a special time and place: 1 - 3 pm, at Alma Community Hall.
• Information about an Online Discussion Session (June 6th) when you can connect with people in your congregation, hear what others are thinking, and ask your questions.
• Critical information about the Voting Day on June 12th
• Contact information, encouraging you to contact someone on the Steering Committee with your questions and comments.
