Here at JADS, May and June are busy months. Leading up to the end of the academic year, there are quite some events planned. If you are free on 14 June, then consider visiting our lustrum event! JADS Startup ‘Maps Untold’ raises funds for market launch

A startup from the JADS incubator JADS Playground, named Maps Untold,  raised money for their market launch. Financing has been made available by the Data/ICT start-up fund and the Leisure Development Fund (LOF) to realize further growth of the company.

Smarten up the pork production chain

Hendrix Genetics and the Vion Food Group, who are working together with Connecting Agri & Food (CAF), are working on a project involving the use of data to promote healthy pig growth and development and hence boost the quality of meat production.

Martijn Bouwknegt: "It’s all about teamwork: a team consisting of domain experts working with data scientists is a team that asks the right questions. That’s a huge plus.”

Working at JADS MKB Datalab: gaining practical experience and a nice side hustle

It is never a bad idea to gain some additional job experience next to your studies, especially if the work experience is within your field of expertise. The MKB Datalab provides data science students this opportunity.

1 December 2021 marked the 5 year anniversary of JADS. That calls for a celebration! On Tuesday, 14 June 2022 ,14.00-18.00, we invite every member of our community - business partners, students, academics - and everyone else who is interested to look back on 5 years JADS, get acquainted with all that JADS has to offer and raise the glass together.

See what the JADS Community can do for you: meet our researchers, partners and connect to other data science professionals. Get to know our students and start ups in pitches and Q&As, join a live recording of the JADS Podcast and meet and mingle in our JADS Fair.

13 Jun - 22 Aug: AI for Greener Cities Challenge

DPD started to equip their cars with sensors and record their drives gathering valuable data to innovate in a sustainable direction. It created an unexpected opportunity – giving us more insight into our cities and offering solutions on how to make them more sustainable.

For this challenge, JADS teamed up with DPD and Fruitpunch AI to find out the potential of driving video data to improve the sustainability of urban areas. You are free to come up with your own game plan. You’ll be supported by data science experts from FruitPunch AI, JADS and DPD.

The challenge runs from 13 Jun - 22 Aug.

International Data Science Film Festival 2022

The International Data Science Film Festival is the world first -and therefore coolest- film festival in the world dedicated to data science. IDSFF offers three days of films, panels, discussions, Q&A’s and networking opportunities. It draws innovators, scientists, filmmakers, critics and thought-leaders to discuss the state of affairs and the future of our society.

From Thursday June 30th to Saturday July 2nd 2022, IDSFF will descend on the Mariënburg Convent, home of Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS), in the city center of ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
