FAIRVIEW FAMILY
Grace, mercy, and peace to you. I am anticipating worship with you on Sunday when we'll continue our sermon series through 1 Peter. Here's the scripture for the service:
"Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor" (1 Peter 2:13-17).
Join us as we worship the one true God and unpack that passage.
Don't forget the Birds and the Bees discussion with parents and other interested adults is Sunday evening beginning at 6 in the Family Life Center. And be sure to sign up to bring food and/ or drink for the graduation potluck following the service on Sunday, May 29.
One more thing to which I would like to give special attention. We are updating our directory and have a photographer coming on June 25 and July 23. To have your picture taken for the directory please click here to sign up for a time slot. Questions? Please call Marianna Nowell at 864-350-4923 and thank her for her work on this.
That ought to do it for now. Scroll on down to see further announcements, pray through the prayer list, see the suggested books of the month, and how about looking at our list of officers and praying for them. Give an elder or a deacon a call and tell him how much you appreciate him.
I appreciate you all and love you dearly.

Fairview Family Worship Guide
Books of the Month | Children's Library
Since the beginning of the fall semester I've used this space to suggest a book to you, but for the month of May I'd like to suggest several books to our children and their parents. Did you know we have a small library for children in the children's church room of the sanctuary? Well we do, and there you'll find several good reads from the "Christian Heroes: Then & Now series." Books on William Carey, Eric Liddell, Amy Carmichael, and more. In addition to those you'll find two of my favorites The Church History ABCs by Stephen Nichols and Ned Bustard and The Priest with Dirty Clothes by R.C. Sproul. If Sinclair Ferguson is one of your favorite theological minds, don't miss The Magnificent Time Machine. Stop by and check out some of these titles - your children will be glad you did.
