We are steadily approaching a somber milestone — 1 million dead in the US of COVID-19. What have we learned from such a steep price? We know more about COVID-19 and how pandemics spread, but we have not done enough to prevent the next wave-–possibly already be on its way with rising hospitalizations and deaths. Nor are we prepared for the next inevitable pandemic.
