This week, we had a pair of episodes featuring Tim Hoffman, whose thoughtful analysis of Bob Dylan's 1978-1981 output made for wonderful listening. Thanks again Tim!
Because these records are often referred to as his "Christian period," many music fans — and many Dylan fans — never gave them much of a chance. Or worse, ignored them entirely.

New or notable, classic or quaffable, Mike is pouring a glass of it.
Beer: Fermentation Engastration
Style: Extreme Beer
ABV: 10%
Brewer: Dogfish Head Craft Brewery
Mike Sez: Dogfish Head of Delaware is well-known for its extreme and exotic beers including Chicha, which has as an ingredient chewed-and-spit-out purple maize, and Chocolate Lobster, made with – you guessed it – cocoa and lobsters. Their newest limited edition beer is described as the “turducken of the beer world.”
That’s because the beer is inspired by many different beverages including a farmhouse ale, sake, mead, cider and Muscat wine. The ingredients include honey, flaked rice, rice syrup, date syrup, barley, spelt, muscat grape juice and apple juice concentrates, rose petals and, of course, yeast and hops.
Conclusion: Dogfish Head only made 1,000 bottles of this beer. Priced at $25 a bottle and sold on GiveThemBeer.com, it is not for everyone. The aroma is that of a typical farmhouse ale, or saison, but it has a crisp character along with a honeyed sweetness, and a boozy aftertaste. Depending on your palate, this mashup might be tasty à la Daft Punk with Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers, or just OK – the Foo Fighters and Rick Astley.
