Activities Planned at Welk Homestead State Historic Site
BISMARCK, N.D. – Activities planned for June 4 at the Welk Homestead State Historic Site near Strasburg include a blacksmith demonstration and a pollinator presentation. The events are free and open to the public.
Bob McCay, an amateur blacksmith from Bismarck, will share his knowledge of the craft from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A blacksmith for more than 10 years, McCay enjoys teaching and demonstrating blacksmithing skills to the public.
From 1 to 3 p.m., "Discover Pollinators" will be presented by Elisha Mueller, a conservation biologist with the North Dakota Game and Fish Department. Mueller will discuss North Dakota’s many important pollinators, what they need to thrive, how populations are faring, and what we can all do to help.
The Welk Homestead, located at 845 88th St. SE, Strasburg, is a state historic site managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota.
