As the Safe Rest Village (SRV) team and our construction contractor were
putting the finishing touches in, before handing keys over to All Good Northwest,
the Friends of Multnomah SRV donated food, bedding, and other supplies.

Before the handover of keys at the end of last week, our Safe Rest Village team hosted a variety of guests for a Sneak Peek tour. Commissioner Dan Ryan hosted community members who have been involved with us as part of the stakeholder group, from the Multnomah Neighborhood Association Work Group, from the neighboring West Hills Christian School, and others for a brief look and drop off donations. Mayor Ted Wheeler and representatives from elected offices (federal, state, Metro, and Multnomah County) and their staff were also invited. We got a pretty good showing despite the rain that afternoon. Some immediate neighbors were able to connect with All Good Northwest staff, to ensure future lines of communication would be open. People got a tour of the shared kitchenette, and shower/laundry/restroom building, as well. All 30 units were ready with donated bedding to welcome the first program participants who moved in earlier this week.

Last week was a busy one. Our Safe Rest Village construction team was placing donated trees from our partners at the Bureau of Environmental Services, putting up string lights throughout the village, and working on other finishing touches. All Good Northwest was getting ready to take the keys and open our first Safe Rest Village in our series of six. And a newly formed team of volunteers, the Friends of Multnomah SRV were equally busy. They created and posted lawn signs around the village, and coordinated the delivery of bedding, Cup-o-Noodles, and other items for the new village program participants.

Want to Donate? Great and thank you.
Look for future opportunities!

PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF UNSOLICITED DONATIONS.
The generosity of the community has already started with early donations from the Friends of Multnomah Safe Rest Village (FMSRV). It is absolutely appreciated. Donations of bedding are already being put to use. Further opportunities to donate will emerge over time, as the shelter gets up and running. All Good Northwest, the shelter operator, will share with the community at large and the Friends group about village needs and how to donate.
Until specific donation events or opportunities are shared, please respect the privacy of program participants already in the village. That's another way to support them on their path to stability.
