Verge Valet sends less to landfill

Verge Valet sends less to landfill

Recycle vs reuse - what’s the difference? Quite a lot actually. Reuse refers to using an item again in its current form, while recycling refers to deconstructing an item and recovering its recyclable components.

While Verge Valet™ is for junk only, materials collected through this system are sorted post collection, recovering what can be recycled into new products. As a result, less is sent to landfill.

Two-thirds (66%) of users prefer it to the old system. Why?

  • It’s easy to book

  • You can book online 24/7 at a time that suits you

  • Collections can be booked to suit your timeline, not your Council’s

  • Neighbours share collections or combine Verge Valet™ with Buy Nothing before their scheduled collection

And if it’s too good for Verge Valet™, you can always choose your reuser. These reuse options are popular with Verge Valet™ users:

  • Repair Labs - for fixable items they want to keep

  • Lending Libraries

  • Buy Nothing Online Community

  • WhatsApp groups

  • Facebook Marketplace

  • Charities and Op Shops

  • Gumtree

Need some reuse inspiration? Visit our How to Reuse and Recycle Unwanted Items, so you can rehome what you can and Verge Valet™ what you can’t.
