Issue 112: Wellness in the wild

Today we’re following up with youth culture analyst Casey Lewis, a brand strategist and trend researcher who writes the newsletter After School. Last month, we gave Casey $1,000 to spend on health and wellness, and she’s been generous enough to share some of her thoughts and feelings on a few of her picks.

🪸 On Rootless’ once-daily seaweed bites: “[They] became a daily routine for me immediately. It’s such a nice first bite in the morning. I feel like I’m doing something good for myself and it tastes delicious, so it’s truly a win-win. The chai flavor also perfectly complements a cup of coffee.”

$44 for The Starter Kit (Casey got the coconut chai flavor)

🧴 On Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40: “I’ve always been bad about applying sunscreen to my face (so sticky and messy!), but I’m happy to report that this goes on so smooth and easy. Two seconds after application you don’t even notice it on the skin.”

Starting at $20 for a 0.68-ounce bottle

💆‍♀️ On the Theragun Mini: “[It] feels amazing on my sore muscles, and it’s really been a savior for tight calves and foot arches. Hilariously, my dog also loves it and whenever he hears me using it, he’ll beg for a back rub with it.”

$159 on Therabody (Casey got the massager in Desert Rose)

Stay tuned…

🍄 Fittingly, the founder of Rootless Sachi Singh penned this Sunday’s guest curator issue. Watch this space for a meditation on mushrooms.
