Dear <<First Name>>,
God is so good! Great things are happening at First Methodist Carrollton. I am so encouraged seeing people returning to worship on campus and joining online. We continue to pray for our Youth as they are on mission in New Orleans helping challenged families.
This Sunday after the 10:30 worship service, we will have our first summer Lunch & Learn. It will be a great time to meet new friends, build community, enjoy a great lunch, and hear a great presentation. Please join us for this great time together. You will be glad you did. Learn more here
As we complete the sermon series Conversations with Jesus, I wrestle with the question, "What’s next?" What does God have in store for us? We will be looking at one of the greatest promises of the Old Testament: Isaiah 35.
Isaiah speaks to a people without hope. The Israelites were under attack from both internal and external threats. Their way of life was challenged by moral and ethical decay, and their enemies were at their border. In this great time of challenge, Isaiah offered words of hope.
As we look at our world, where do we find our hope? Jesus gives us the same assurance He gave to His disciples on the night before His suffering. Jesus taught His disciples many things about the Power coming to them, and He said, “I have said this to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution, but take courage: I have conquered the world!” (John 16:33)
We have hope in Christ. We have the assurance of our Savior. For this reason, I look forward to the future with great, undying hope in Christ Jesus our Lord.
See you Sunday,
Pastor John Allen
