Early this month we learnt that GreaseBoss, an Australian start-up founded in 2020 on the Sunshine Coast, was going for gold in the global award program dubbed the Innovation World Cup Series. Co-CEO Tim Hall said the team at GreaseBoss was thrilled to be part of the 2022 Hannover Messe and announced as finalists.

Unfortunately, they didn’t come away with the gold... that being said, Tim was excited to share that there was a great deal of interest with 25 good quality leads from all around the world, including Seimens wind turbines, Hyundai and other large multi-national companies. “All in all, it’s been a success!!”

The relationship between local businesses and their customers is being celebrated in a new campaign supported by Sunshine Coast Council and Buy Local Sunshine Coast. The digital marketing campaign will highlight the loyalty that Sunshine Coast consumers have with their favourite local businesses. The campaign encourages the community to post and tag great local businesses on their social media pages using hashtag #buylocalsunshinecoast to show their support. An International Robotics Competition for teams of kids, ages 8 to adults, to test their design in one or more events.

Sports Industry Development
 
The Council’s Sports Industry Development Program is an initiative designed to position the Sunshine Coast as Australia’s premier destination for sports training, participation and competition. Through this program, Council was able to secure two sports industry national conferences, forming new relationships with the Officiating Collective and Disability Sports Australia, as well as continuing to strengthen our collaborative relationship with the University of the Sunshine Coast and Sunshine Coast Sports. The Sunshine Coast Sports Symposium kicks off tomorrow, and the Officiating Summit will be held next month July 16 & 17.

August offers an amazing line up of major events that showcase our region as growing arts and cultural hub.

Step inside Fantasyland as over 250 of the world's most mystifying performers showcase their out-of-this-world skills at this year’s multi-award-winning Buskers By The Lake.
